About US
At Keystone Tax, we believe tax preparation should feel less overwhelming and more strategic. Behind every return we prepare is a commitment to accuracy, professionalism, and long-term financial clarity. Our mission is simple: help individuals and businesses stay organized, compliant, and confident — not just during tax season, but year-round.
Wendy and Kevin are the driving force behind Keystone Tax Service. Together, they bring over 30 years of experience in the accounting and tax industry. Both hold Master’s degrees and have built their careers around helping clients navigate increasingly complex tax laws with confidence.
In addition to their advanced education and professional experience, Wendy and Kevin are both Enrolled Agents (EAs) — a tax credential issued directly by the Internal Revenue Service.
What Is an Enrolled Agent (EA)
An Enrolled Agent is a tax professional who has earned the privilege of representing taxpayers before the IRS by either passing a comprehensive examination covering all aspects of federal taxation or through extensive experience working within the IRS. EAs must complete ongoing continuing education focused specifically on taxation in order to maintain their credential.
Unlike CPAs, whose licensing is governed at the state level and whose focus may include auditing, financial reporting, or consulting, Enrolled Agents specialize exclusively in taxation.
In Pennsylvania, a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is licensed by the state and may provide a broad range of accounting services, including audits and financial statement preparation. While many CPAs also prepare tax returns, taxation is just one component of their credential.
An Enrolled Agent, on the other hand, is specifically on tax law, tax planning and compliance. EAs are required to complete continuing education that is heavily concentrated on federal tax updates and regulations.
Both credentials are respected and valuable — but when it comes to preparing personal, small business, S-Corporation, partnership, and corporate returns, EAs devote their professional focus entirely to taxation.
